Burtsev V.A. Laboratory of EUV and X-ray radiation
Our developments
Nanomicroscope *Nanoscale-resolution XRM
Super-resolution X-ray microscope for 3D imaging of living objects
Get Synchrotron capabilities in your lab
An innovative development of BurtsevLab company allows to research living objects in nanoscale-resolution up to 10 nm in real time. At the same time, the desktop dimensions of the equipment make it possible to place the Nanomicroscope in any lab.
Scheme of the Nanomicroscope
Have a look inside a living cell
The Nanomicroscope uses soft X-rays in the "water window" wavelength range of 2.3 nm - 4.4 nm. This makes possible to obtain high-resolution contrast images of living objects, for example, cells, avoiding the process of artificial contrasting. That means the cell remains alive and functioning the way it normally does.
Imaging examples Tomography of the Schizosaccharomyces pombe.
a - output tomographic data, с – output data of combined light and fluorescence microscopy, b – reconstruction using software.

Make your sample preparation process as simple as possible
There is no need to apply heavy metals to the sample surface or to add contrast agents due to unique technology used in the Nanomicroscope. All you need to do is cut a slice of the ROI and place it in a sample cassette.
What can the Nanomicroscope offer your lab?
The Nanomicroscope allows you to explore various biological objects from tissue samples to cell ultra-structures.
Fundamental medicine
Research the functioning and vital activity of cells and cell cultures, features of the reaction to external factors.
Bioengineering
Research mechanisms of growth and functioning of artificially grown cells, cell cultures and tissues. Features of interaction with the external environment, incl. reaction to drugs, pathogens, etc.
Pharmacology
Research the interaction mechanism of a cell and its organelles with drugs and pathogens. Research the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs.
Laboratory diagnostics
Instant research of a native sample for pathogens.
